Berries & Beets

Blueberries are packed full of fibre keeping you fuller longer! Plus, blueberries are an excellent source of manganese, which plays an important part in bone development and converting carbohydrates and fats for the body to use. Blueberries have the highest antioxidant capacity among all commonly consumed fruits. Eating these berries regularly is found to help the cardiovascular system and protect us against neurodegenerative diseases and digestive diseases.

Beetroot is a root vegetable that contains important nutrients. Beetroot fibre has been shown to increase the number of white blood cells, which are responsible for detecting and eliminating abnormal cells. Red beetroots have been ranked as one of the 10 most potent antioxidant vegetables and are also one of the richest sources of glutamine, an amino acid, essential to the health and maintenance of the intestinal tract.


This smoothie is so delicious and incredibly easy, I just had to share!

1 Cup plant based milk

1/4 cup blueberries

1 small beetroot, peeled and chopped

1/2 frozen banana

small handful fresh mint leaves

2 tsp chia seeds

Blend on high for 1 minute.
