Functional training is when we train multiple muscle groups at the same time, improving our body's ability to work efficiently as one unit.
For most people, the practical application of functional training is to make daily tasks easier to perform...so the work we do in the gym translates to the body working more efficiently and effectively when we're performing everyday tasks.
Some of my favourite workouts are Swiss Ball workouts where I combine strength, core function, stability of muscles supporting joints, and balance exercises. Using a Swiss Ball makes the whole body work functionally.
The Swiss Ball is great for :-
*neutral spine position
*Increase lumbar (low back) mobility
*Increase abdominal and back muscle strength
*Increase balance and stability
*overall control and strength of the core body muscles!
